Through extensive research and comprehensive work, ADA has successfully designed and developed our home grown fighter aircraft. Though it has taken time but what we have achieved was necessary for India to become a super power. Now the focus is on its improved variant i.e. LCA MK2. The time when it will serve our nation will be an era of 5th generation aircraft. So it is important that we decide, what practical and relevant improvements can be incorporated into LCA in the next few years so that it can match the challenges during its service.
First lets consider the challenges it may face :
1. JF17 (Pak)
2. F16 (Pak)
3. J10 (china & Pak)
4. J20 (china &.....)
5. Su-30 (china)
Possible Technologies that can be incorporated:
1. EASA Radar
2. Enhanced stealth by use of RAM (similar to what has been done with F-15 S/E)
3. Enhanced electronic Warfare suite.
4. Enhanced Avionics
5. Enhanced data link and networking capabilities
6. Towering decoys...(Eurofighter typhoon)
7. Technologies that can be gained from MMRCA
8. Technologies Gained from development work on PAK-FA
9.Technologies gained from development work of AMCA
10 Stealthy fuel tanks.
